ArchismART was created by architect Horacio Chiesa and expressive arts therapist Clara Lasagni to offer children a holistic introduction to architecture and to spatial awareness. This unique educational approach artfully blends the visual and spatial principles of architecture with the European Psycho-motor approach for global child development, thus realizing a program that nourishes the mind, body, heart and emotions.
ArchismART consists of programs designed to meet the developmental needs of the young participants. While respecting and nurturing their imagination and learning abilities, particular emphasis is placed on the importance of movement, play, creativity and experimentation.
The European Psycho-motor approach recognizes the primary importance of children’s relationship to space and objects, noting that such connection to their surroundings is first and foremost emotional and not cognitive. Such awareness is based upon freedom of movement, balanced emotions and practical experimentation in the very young ones.
